Doris Beck Golightly

Doris Beck Golightly, 76, of Morganton passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on February 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Alton "Ran" Beck and Eliza Virginia Beck. Doris has worked at several local banks and retired from Colonel’s Pantry. She was an avid Kasey Kahne NASCAR fan.Doris is survived by her daughter, Lynn Lindsay Woodson and her husband, Ben, of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Natasha Crain, Lindsay Barber, Joanna Woodson, Kenneth W. Golightly, and Alissa Golighty; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, James Beck of Morganton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Randall Golightly; brother, Alton R. Beck, Phifer Beck, Lawrence Beck, and Charles Beck; and a sister, Sue Beck McDavid.The graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, January 10, 2014 at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Allison Pryor officiating. The family will receive friends at Sossoman Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
