Don Hudson, 70, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, March 27, 2016. Born in Cleveland County, NC on January 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Harvey John Hudson and Mozelle Crotts Hudson. Don retired from Drexel Heritage Furnishings and loved working in his garden.
A devoted father and grandfather, Mr. Hudson is survived by his sons, Ronnie Hudson and his wife, Susan, Jimmy Hudson, Allen Hudson, and Adam Hudson; grandchildren, Brittany Hudson, Savannah Hudson, Schyler Hudson, Camden Hudson, and Grayson Hildebran; brothers, Dwight Hudson, Richard Hudson and his wife, Charlene, Jerry Hudson, Harvey Hudson, Jr., and Joe Hudson and his wife, Diane; a step-brother, James Pruitt; sisters, Edith Wortman, Dorothy McCurry, Diane Bradshaw and her husband, Ralph, and Nancy Luckadoo and her husband, Myron; half-sisters, Della Mae Ledford and her husband, Bobby, Brenda Greene and her husband, Alan, and Geraldine Kanipe; a step-mother, Zanny Hudson; a number of nephews and nieces; and his special friend, Linda Kay Helms.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hudson; brothers, Hugh, Dan, and Larry Hudson; and sisters, Coleen Bowman and Faye Willis.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 30 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Rocky Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Abundant Life Tabernacle Cemetery.
