Don Denton, 71 of Morganton, NC, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Born on June 29, 1950, he was the son of the late Roy and Viola Denton. Don was a member of Nowling Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from Broughton Hospital. Don loved working on wood projects. He was an avid UNC Tar Heel Fan and loved to fish.
Don is survived by his wife of 18 years, Gale Denton; son, Tony Denton; daughters, Brittaney Taylor (Tristan), Nylene Bilow (Donnie); step-daughter, Crystal Parson (Mike); step-son, Nathan West; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil Denton (Annette), Ken Denton (Betsy); sister, Lisa Dale (Ervin); and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1pm, Monday, December 6, 2021 at Nowling Chapel. A funeral will begin at 1pm in the church with the Revs. Darvy Hensley and David Orders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
