Dolores Faye Buchanan, 67, of Morganton, NC passed away, Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Born on June 14, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Mary Drury. Dolores loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed playing bingo for many years, fishing, and traveling to the beach in South Carolina.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, JoEllen Hemphill (Tafathali); grandchildren, Christy Johnson (Tyler Wiginton), Jovan Harbison, 2nd Lt. DeMarkus Moore; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Kylah, Khloe, Kaidence, Tatum, Liem; siblings, John Drury, Lethia Drury, Sandra Barnes.
In addition to her parents, Dolores is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Reid Brazzell; siblings, Diane Kiddy, Kathy Drury.
A Visitation will be held July 15, 2023 from 2- 3 PM at Sossoman Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to follow in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Reverend Jaspher Hemphill officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

A good friend since 1974. She can rest in peace now with no pain.
Fly high sweet lady. Dolores and I were the best of online friends for many years. She helped celebrate my oldest graduating high school and welcoming my son in the same year. She spoke often of her granddaughter Kristy and her 3 great grandkids. She loved her weekends with them. I don't think I would have made through my dad passing a few years ago without her friendship and support. I offer mine to my dear friends family at this time. I will truly miss her as I know so many will.
I am so sorry to learn of the passing of my friend Deloris. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her precious family.

I am going to miss you my friend. You were a wonderful friend for me. I know we never met in real life but we messaged each other and you really helped me when my son passed away with cancer. You were a kind and loving person. I loved how you would send me pictures of your great grandkids and how much you loved your family. You have gotten your Angel Wings. You will be missed my friend.
