Mrs. Dolly “Dean” Roberson Fox, 88, of Morganton was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2020. Born September 4, 1931 in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Griffin McCurry and Carrie Lela McCurry. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Paul Fox, Jr.; son, Paul Fox, III; daughter, Kimberly Fox Banner; and sister, Hettie Belle McCurry.
Dolly retired from Broughton Hospital and Roses Department Store. She was a hard worker who enjoyed her work immensely. She was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church for over 50 years and loved her church family.
Mrs. Fox is survived by daughter-in-law, Martha Fox; son-in-law, Eddie Banner; grandson, Jason Banner and fiancée, Amy Jenkins; granddaughter, Ashley Banner Penley and husband, Richard; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Nancy Gauldin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Catawba Valley Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. David Orders officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
