Dianne Elizabeth Connelly

Dianne Elizabeth Connelly, 69, of Morganton went to be reunited with her family on Sunday, December 8, 2013. She was born in Burke County on February 22, 1944 and was a daughter of the late Will Conley and Marie Kincaid Conley. Dianne retired from Broughton Hospital with 30 years of service and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she sang with the Joy Bells.Surviving are her sons, Chris Conley and his wife, Amanda Parker Conley, and William Conely all of Morganton; grandchildren, Julian Harrison, Kellen Conley, Shawn Ervin, Chandler Moore, Zackery and Xaiver Avery, and Blake Moore; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maggie Davis of Hickory, Gwendolyn Connelly and Ellen Connelly both of Morganton; long time friend, Francis Clark of Morganton and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Allen Conley, grandson, Tyrone Carson, brothers, Floyd and William Connelly, and by sisters, Frances C. Woodward, Roberta Booker, and Gloria Surratt.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church with Reverends Max Bristol, William Harbison, and Frances Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 413 Bouchelle St., Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with arrangement.
