Denise Edwards Reckart, 74, of Morganton, NC, formerly of Fairmont, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 2, 2025. She was born on May 21, 1951 in Marion County, WV to the late Carl Edwards and Dana Edwards. She had been attending Mull’s Grove Baptist Church. Denise was an AA advocate and sponsor. She was affectionately known as “Care Bear” by the high school and junior high band in Mullens. Denise was a compassionate, caring person who never met a stranger. She had a good sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie Edwards.
She is survived by her former husband, Bob Trent; sons, Robert “Robbie” Trent (Teresa) and Dana Matthew Trent; daughter, Natalie Trent (Mike Pakacki); grandchildren, Chamarra Castanon, Ariana Asbury, Victoria Matheny, and Ronnie Mullins and Lisa Cyrus; four great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Edwards; and very close friend, Martin Moore.
A Celebration of Denise’s life will be held at Mt. Zion in Fairmont, WV.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Denise was a wonderful woman. She was so instrumental in my son getting sober and staying sober. For that I am eternally grateful. RIP Denise, singing with the angels. ♥ ♥ ♥
