Delores “Mickie” Lambert Hollifield, 79, of Morganton passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019. Born in Burke County, NC on December 8, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Dude” Willard Lambert and Virginia “Gen” Whisnant Lambert. Mickie was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She was an animal lover, especially of her dog, Scrapper, and enjoyed racing and her view of Table Rock from her home. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Mickie is survived by her children, Rusty Hollifield (Anna), Jeff Hollifield (Veda), Penny Wiseman (Marty), and Robbie Hollifield (Apryl); grandchildren, Rusty Jr., Ethan, Aleigha, Megan, Crysta, Jacob, Chris, Caleb, Hannah, and Mason; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kylie, Kora, Kira, Kayden, Kanon, Easton, Everley, Hunter, and Luke;and special friends, Patricia and Robert Freeman, Tim Freeman, Leah “Sis” Mitchell, and Charles Abee.
In addition to her parents, Mickie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Hollifield; daughter, Paula Jenise Hollifield; and grandchildren, Josh Childs, Samantha Hollifield, and Lily Hollifield.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with Revs. Keith Rose and Dennis Carswell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
