Delbert C. Fredell, 64, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 7, 2023. He was born on May 13, 1959 in Burke County to Minnie Pearl Chapman Fredell. He was a member of Zion Road Baptist Church, which he loved, and attended every time the doors were open. Delbert loved his friends and family and was the friend to call when someone was needed. He spent a lot of his time caring for his brother. He loved NASCAR and Gunsmoke. Delbert was a big supporter of St. Jude, Wounded Warrior, and the Shriners.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Ray Anthony; sister, Ruby Falls; brother, Frank Fredell.

He is survived by his brothers, Coy Fredell and Dennis Fredell (Lori); sister, Delorise F. Chapman; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11-12pm, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 12 noon in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Revs. Micah Piercy, Chris Willis and J.C. Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Delorise, I was so sorry to hear about Delbert. Just seen him a couple of days before. He always had a smile on his face. Loved to joke with him. I know that he will be greatly missed by a lot of family and friends. Y'all in my prayers. Love, Angela
