Debra Kay Prueitt, 63 of Morganton, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. She was born June 3, 1951 in Burke County to the late Roy T. Prueitt and Effie Murphy Prueitt.
Debra was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church. She taught school in grades three through eight for thirty years in McDowell and Burke counties.
Debra is survived by her husband, Richard Hemphill; a brother, Keith Prueitt and his wife, Tina, of Morganton.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 5:30 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
