Deborah Elaine Woodie, 74 of Morganton, NC passed away, Friday, June 5, 2026. Born on January 10, 1952, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura Markham. Deborah enjoyed traveling to many different places. She worked at Burger King and loved to meet and talk with new people.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Delbert Woodie; step-son, Robert Strieb; cousins, Tommy and Carolyn Beatty, Patricia Brittain; aunt, Nancy Brittain; step-father-in-law, Thomas Abrey Duncan.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Thursday, June 11, 2026 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Hart officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

My sincere sympathy to Woodie in the loss of Debbie. I am so very thankful that she and I talked just 2 days before she had to leave her earthly home for a better place. She will be missed. So very sorry unable to attend her memorial today. Sadly. family emergency made it impossible to be there but my thoughts have certainly been with her today.
I'm going to miss you so much but I will continue to collect the ducks in your honor
Debbie, I will miss your smiling face and the laughs we had over the duckies. You brightened many a day for so many people. Rest in peace.

To the family of Debra Woody I'm so sorry for your loss I had an opportunity to sit and talk with Deborah at the Drexel reunion October 4th we had a great time talking and reminiscing about growing up in the area and going to school at Drexel Deborah was an awesome person always friendly and had a constant smile on her face I know she will be greatly missed you have my deepest sympathy my prayers are with you during this difficult time
