Deborah “Debbie’ Morrow Taylor, 62, of Morganton, NC passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, November 17, 2016.  Born in Rutherford County, NC on February 25, 1954, she was the daughter of Bessie Shehan Morrow of Morganton and the late Rev. Virgil Morrow.  Debbie was a member of Southside Baptist Church and had attended First Baptist Church.  She worked at the News Herald for 27 years as circulation secretary / manager and as a route carrier.  She was currently working at Carter Bank and Trust.  Debbie will definitely be missed; she was the sweetest person in the world.

A loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Debbie is survived by her husband, Cobb Taylor of the home; a son, Mel Rhoney, Jr. and his wife, Gloria, of Morganton; step-daughters, Donna Holland and her husband, Mike, of Morganton, Susan Patton and her husband, Jeff, of Morganton, and Pam Wurtz and her husband, Rob, of Greensboro, NC; a brother, Rick Morrow and his wife, Sarah, of Morganton; a sister, Linda Womack of Forest City, NC; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her father, Debbie was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack D. Morrow and Steve Morrow.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Monday, November 21, 2016 at Gray’s Creek Baptist Church in Rutherfordton with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690 or to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
