Deborah “Ann” Hollifield, 68 of Drexel, NC passed away on Sunday April 3, 2022 after a prolonged illness and complications at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Spruce Pine NC, under the tender care of hospice of Mitchell County. Born September 25, 1953 in Avery County, NC she was a daughter of the late Joseph Ray Woody and Eva Mae Franklin Woody. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by sister Lea Woody Ledford, brothers Don Woody and George Woody and first husband Randy Deal. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Shelley Deal Roper and husband David Roper of Eads, TN. Grandson Chris Roper of Memphis, TN, Grandson Jordan Roper, wife Jessica Roper and newborn son Atlas Ford Roper of Memphis, TN, Anns first great-grandson. Son Bryan Hollifield and wife Tina Hollifield along with granddaughter Shanah Buchanan and husband Brandon Buchanan of Spruce Pine and grandson Noah Hollifield and granddaughter Jeanna Hollifield of Spruce Pine. Also Surviving are two brothers, Bradley Woody and wife Brenda and Roger Woody and wife Kathy. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Ann attended Drexel High School. She was a customer service representative for Henredon Furniture in Morganton for a number of years before retiring and moving to Cedar Island, NC.  Ann was a very kind soul and there was never anyone she couldn’t carry a conversation with. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make jokes and tell funny stories. She had a smile that made her eyes twinkle. She adored spending time with family especially in the Outer Banks. She loved cooking, sewing, walking on the beach, hiking, camping and tending to her flowers. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Sossoman Funeral Home in Morganton, NC on Saturday June 11, at 11am.
