Debbie Stidham Mace

Debbie Stidham Mace, 67, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Born in Letcher County, KY on August 9, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Eli Stidham and Margie Adams Stidham.

Debbie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially the mountains. She also enjoyed crafts and painting, but she most enjoyed spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Samuel Mace (Kathy); daughter, Sabrina Smith (Billy), daughter-in-law, Jammie Baker; step-daughter, Summer Knight (David); grandchildren, Selena Gibson (Jimmy), Sekena Maggard (Zachary), Siarra Smith, Samara Smith, Trennity Baker, Jacob Baker, and Sophia McAdams; great-grandchildren, Bailey Gibson, Mackenzie Gibson, Fynlee Gibson, and Emerald Richardson; siblings, Eveline May, Toni Delph, and Jimmy Stidham; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Allen Mace; son, Gregory Shane Baker; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Maggard; and six siblings.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Shawn Milburn officiating. The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery.
