David Woodie, 67, of Morganton, NC, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023.
Born in Avery County, NC on January 15, 1956, he was the son of Welda Johnson Woodie and the late Haden Albert Woodie.
David enjoyed fishing, all sports, and watching westerns. He was a free spirit who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his daughter, Brandy Woodie; grandchildren, Alli, Rainn, Hayden, Cordova, Ian, and Lili; sister, Rhonda Dale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father and by his son, Brandon David Woodie.
A private graveside service will be held at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

David was a wonderful person. He is my nephew and I love him very much. He was always a great Father to his children and treated his family well. His personality was his greatest asset. I believe in a world beyond this world where love goes on and on and every good soul finds peace. David is at PEACE. He will be greatly missed.
