Committal
David Spencer Franklin, 64, of Asheville, NC, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Born in Burke County, NC on July 26, 1959, he was the son of the late Paul Spencer Franklin and Trudy Frances Williams Franklin.
David had attended Mt. Home Baptist Church. He worked for Diamond Field Construction and later worked construction in Asheville. He enjoyed drag racing and his beloved dog, Penny, who went everywhere David went.
Mr. Franklin is survived by his daughter, Melissa Louise Suttles; grandchildren, Mekenzie and Madison Suttles, girlfriend, Diane Hodge; brother, Robert Franklin; sisters, Paula Clark, Lu Franklin, and Kathy Smith (Richard); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A celebration of David’s life will follow at 4 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Heath Benfield officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
