David Lynn Miller, 74, of Morganton, NC, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on March 5, 1951, he was the son of the late John David Miller and Georgia Mack Fox Henson.
David was a veteran of the US Army, having served for more than 10 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and had been stationed in various locations around the world, including Korea. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. David attended Praise Assembly of God in Glen Alpine.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, James Miller and David Miller; daughters, Margaret Kelly (Josh) and Carmen Baldridge (Shane); grandchildren, Candis Rose, Lucas Baldridge, Megan Shaffer, and Jacob Ray; great-grandchildren, Kaynon, Opal, Xavier, Wyatt, and Kendall; brother, Travis; cousin, Nicky Fox; and his beloved dog, Sophie.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by three brothers, Danny, Harvey, and Dennis.
No services are planned at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
