David Eugene Martin, 61, of Stanley, NC passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Born in Mecklenburg County, NC on December 18, 1964, he was the son of the late George Martin and Thelma Rebecca “Becky” Powell Martin.
David attended Mecklenburg Public Schools and worked at Howell Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, music, hunting, planting flowers, and gardening, and he loved his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his aunts, Maxine Lail, Judy Pendleton, Sara Sherrill (Wilson), and Ruth Duckworth (Jerry); and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mae Powell; aunts, Joyce Powell and Nancy Payne; and uncles, Bob and Bill Powell.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Glen Alpine Cemetery with Rev. April Abernethy officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I work with David for many years. We had a lot of laughs. He will be missed. He was great guy and I want ever forget him.
Id been asking about you. I wished id gotten in contact before you got your wings. We all grew up together in Thomasboro when times were easy and simple. I hated to get this news.
