David Arthur Jewell, 87, of Morganton, NC went home to be with His Lord, Saturday, September 4, 2021. Born on February 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Rosco and Kathryn Jewell. David loved his family and spending time with them. He loved his Lord. David enjoyed watching racing, traveling to the mountains, FOX News, his wife’s cooking and working on cars.
David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Waters Jewell; children, Dwayne Jewell and wife, Susan, Barbara Holton and husband, Mark, Lisa Puckett and her husband Victor, Joseph Pollock and his deceased wife, Elizabeth; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Jewell.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his daughter, Shelia Jewell; step-daughter, Mary Jo Pollack; step-son, James Robert Pollock.
Mr. Jewell will lie in state for friends and family to view from 10am until 11am, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11:15am, at Forest Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jonathan Puckett officiating. Military honors will be provided by the National Guard and the Caldwell County Honor Guard.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
