Danny Lee Burleson, 76, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Born in Avery County, NC on August 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Grover Olin Burleson and Sylva Phillips Burleson.
Danny retired from the NC Department of Corrections. He enjoyed watching westerns and anything in nature, including feeding the deer in his yard. Danny was very particular about his yard the care of his rose bushes. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Danny is survived by his children, Sherry Lynn Burleson and Danny Lee Burleson, Jr.; granddaughter, Dakota Lee Burleson; sister, Lena Sue Andrews; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Denise Wilson Burleson; and nine brothers and sisters, Betty Lingerfelt, Loretta Cate, Hobert Burleson, Lois Johnson, Gene Burleson, Jewel Burleson, and Dale Burleson.
No services are planned at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
