Daniel Joseph Dyer, 74 of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord and his wife, Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born on April 11, 1951, he was the son of the late Bennie and Jean Dyer. Daniel was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved doing anything outdoors, especially fishing. Daniel was an automobile enthusiast and was a huge Chevrolet and Dale Earnhardt fan.

Daniel is survived by his children, Michael Anthony Shellenberger (Jolynn), Gayle Irene Dyer, David William Joseph Dyer; 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Viola Dyer; son, Daniel Joseph Dyer, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Carswell officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
