Dale Swafford, 59 of Morganton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Born on February 25, 1966, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruby Swafford. Dale worked at Drexel Heritage and was co-owner of Sure Deal Car Lot in Valdese. Dale enjoyed fishing in Cherokee, going to the mountains with his mother, watching tv with his great nephew and watching football.
Dale is survived by his sister, Brenda Bolick (Donald); niece, Casey Poteat; nephew, Scotty Bolick; great-nephew, Corbin Poteat, who was the apple of Dale’s eye.
The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm, Friday, September 26, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Lloyd Swafford officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
