Daisy Marie Williams, 86, of Morganton, NC, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Born in McDowell County, NC on November 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Atlas Epley and Maria Parker Epley. Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a caring person who could do anything, but she especially loved to sew and cook. She worked as a corrections officer for over 20 years, and she loved her horses.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Ronnie South (Crystal), Terry South (Virginia), and Charles South; grandchildren, Andy South (Ashley), Phillip South, Kristy South, Keith South, Jesse South, Maranda South, Annie Nesbit (Palmer), and Kenneth South; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Wyatt, Alexis, Allison, and Colton; great-great grandchild, Luka; sisters, Helen, Gennel, Barbara, and Gale; brothers, Gary, Bobby, and Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy Williams; daughter, Brenda “Sissy” South; and sisters, Linda and Snooky.

The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Robinson officiating. Honors will be provided by the NC Department of Corrections Honor Guard.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I worked at Grace Heights for 22 years,Daisy's daughter Sissy was there,she came everyday to take care of her.I was manager over Housekeeping and Laundry.I was a working manager. I cleaned Sissy's room alot,Daisy made me a picture of a cleaning lady mopping the floor and placed it in a beautiful frame,that was years ago.I still have it and cherish it so much.Fly high Daisy love you.Daisy was an amazing lady.Prayers for sll.
