Curtis Fulton Kuykendall, 80, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  Born in Polk County, NC on March 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Doyle Edward Kuykendall and Vera Benson Kuykendall.  Curtis was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, a die-hard Tarheel fan, an Atlanta Braves fan, and an avid golfer.  He loved God and family.

Curtis is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sandra Ginn Kuykendall; daughters, Teresa Owens (Wade, Sr.), Denise Hudson (Robert), and Cassie Hartman (Craig); son, Tracy Kuykendall; grandchildren, Lauren Davis (Brandon), Sara Nixon (Barry), Cody Kuykendall, Josie Ferguson (Samuel), Tyler Hudson (Ashley), Jessica Hudson (Cody), Kirsten Carpenter (Erich), and Lucas Hartman; great-grandchildren, Madison, Ayden, Knox, Haley, Emma-Grace, Braxton, Travis, and Harper; sisters, Gail Ashley, Patricia Bryant, and Barbara Martin (Frank); brothers, Clifford Kuykendall (Mildred) and Jerry Kuykendall (Jeanette); numerous nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Molly.

In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen LaVonne Kuykendall; sister, Gwen Neal; and his favorite pet, Sadie.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Heritage Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m.  in the church with Revs. Dewayne Buchanan and Danny Waters officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.  The family requests that attendees wear Carolina Blue.
