Coy J.W. Fredell, 71 of Morganton, NC went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Born on September 7, 1954, he was the son of the late Buddy Fredell and Minnie Fredell Anthony. Coy was of the Baptist faith and loved listening to gospel music and the word of Christ on the radio. He was a great storyteller. Coy worked at the Garrison Store and ASPEN Tree Service.

Coy is survived by his brother, Dennis Fredell (Lori); sister, Delorise F. Chapman; nieces, Deana, Drema, Jennifer, Marsha; nephew, Robert; best friends and caregiver of 13 plus years, Betty McClellan.

In addition to his parents, Coy was preceded in death by his step-father, Ray Anthony; sister, Ruby Falls; brothers, Frank Fredell, Delbert Fredell.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 2pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Revs. Adam Vines and Mike Stiles officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Sorry for your loss. It was an honor to meet Bro Coy and have a wonderful and sweet cottage prayer meeting at his house. He was a tremendous blessing to us. Looking forward to seeing him again in heaven. We are praying for the family in this season.
