Connor Hennessee, 67, of Glen Alpine, NC passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Born in Burke County, NC on October 4, 1945, he was the son of the late Harold Connor Hennessee and Willie Mae Clontz Hennessee. Connor was an active lifetime member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. He was President, Vice President and on Board of Directors for Glen Alpine Ruritan and served on the Board of Directors for the Burke County fair. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Club at the Morganton Recreation Center, the 77 Car Cruise Club in Marion, and numerous other civic committees. Connor volunteered anytime there was a need. He worked at Hennessee General Store and Winn Dixie.Connor is survived by a special friend of 32 years, Maudie Blevins of Morganton and her family; aunts, Virginia Clontz and Sue Reynolds and her husband, Harold; and many, many cousins.The celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barbara Mayo officiating. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Glen Alpine Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Alpine United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
