Connie Mae Kurtz, 73, of Valdese died Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Born in Fenton Township, MI on July 3, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Benton Annis and Edith Helen Martin Annis. She was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for a number of years and was a member of the Awanas. Connie enjoyed painting and baking and had a passion for collecting teddy bears.
Mrs. Kurtz is survived by her husband, Ed Kurtz of the home; children, Chris Kurtz (Joy) of Morganton, Jason Kurtz (Teresa) of Drexel, and Sarah Morgan (Ryan) of Morganton; grandchildren, Anna Grace Kurtz, Ava Kurtz, Jaxon Kurtz, Madison Morgan, and Avery Morgan; and sister, Beverly Neighorn.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her twin sons, and a granddaughter, Taylor Ann Morgan.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Home Baptist Church Building Fund.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
