Clyde Ronnie Fox

Clyde Ronnie Fox, 76, of Morganton died Tuesday, September 10, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on September 7, 1943, he was the son of the late Jacob James Fox and Mary Louise Harris Fox.  Clyde attended St. Matthews United Methodist Church and was a Sergeant with the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, US Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Joyce Benge Fox; children, Ronnie Douglas Fox (Theresa) and Rhonda Triplett (Nathan); grandchildren, Ronnie Douglas Fox, Jr., Jacob Bryce Triplett; Zachary Douglas Tolbert, and Luke Triplett; special grandchildren, Maggie Claire Thompson, Eli Pitts, and Mason Pitts; siblings, Doris Cox, Alene Medford (Dalton), and Thomas Fox (Martha); and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by a brother, J. C. Fox; and sister, Sharon Griffin.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Revs. Elaine Hall and Kenneth Medford officiating.  Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Mausoleum with military honors provided by the US Marine Corps and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to Carolina Caring Hospice.
