Clyde Eugene Parker, 81, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on March 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Romie Parker and Minnie Costner Parker. Clyde was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church and retired from Broughton Hospital. He enjoyed sports and coached American Legion Baseball. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees. Clyde also loved spending time on the golf course.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Myrtle Louise Brown Parker; daughter, Barbara Parker Brown (Fess); son, Roger Hudson (Debbie); grandchildren, Chad Hudson (Victoria) and Rana Hudson Adkins (Jason); three great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat, Dooter.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Via Hospice.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
