Clarence Clark, 80, of Salem Road, Morganton, NC died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at his residence. Born in Burke County, NC on August 27, 1929, he was the son of the late John H. Clark and Cora Bollinger Clark. Clarence was a loving husband and a wonderful father of four daughters. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed the outdoors. An avid businessman, he was owner and operator of Morganton Timber Products and later became part owner of the Jamestown Flea Market. Clarence will be remembered as a man of few words and high expectations.Clarence is survived by his wife, Margie Pearson Clark of the home; daughters, Patsy Rogers and husband, James, Ginger Snipes and husband, Randy, Gail Wilson and husband, Doug, and Tammy Duckworth and husband, Tony, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Jeff Rogers, Jennifer Smith, Eric Snipes, Nathan Wilson, Cliff Snipes, Tiffany Wilson, and Kala Duckworth; and great-grandchildren, Megan Rogers, Cassidy Smith, Jacob Rogers, Jillian Miller, Collin Miller, Skyler Durham, Raelyn Wilson, Wesley Smith, II, Chase Snipes, and Chasity Hensley; and his beloved canine companion; Annie.In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverends Donald Lovelace and Ken VanBuskirk officiating. The family will receive friends in the Missionary Ridge Baptist Church’s Life Enrichment Center from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence, 1896 Salem Road, Morganton. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
