Christina "Christy" Mace

Christina "Christy" Mace, 31, of Morganton, NC died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 21, 2011. Born in Burke County, NC on September 9, 1979, she was the daughter of Samuel Thomas Mace and Patricia Epley Mace of Morganton. Christy was a graduate of Freedom High School and worked at several local rest homes as a CNA. She loved to listen to music and help her father on the farm.In addition to her parents, Christy is survived by her paternal grandmother, Iva Mace of Morganton; uncles, Steve Mace and wife, Alice, Chris Mace and wife, Kim, and Thomas Epley and wife, Nikki; an aunt, Carolyn Smith and husband, Dean; and many cousins.Christy was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Walter Mace, and her paternal grandparents, John and Annie Epley.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Dennis Carswell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Victory Chapel Church Cemetery.
