Chestine Ollis Boyd, 78, of Morganton, NC died Friday, July 24, 2015. Born in Avery County, NC on February 5, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Chester McDonald Ollis and Catherine Loretta Ray Ollis. Chestine attended the Church of God in Pineola, NC and enjoyed gardening and reading.
A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, she is survived by her son, James Ralph Boyd of Morganton; a granddaughter, Faylee Yvonne Boyd of Morganton; sisters, Jackie Stout of Clinton, OH, Judy Ollis Carpenter of Morganton, and Grace Mary Ollis of Morganton; and nieces and nephews, Dwayne Stout, Wanda Stipikovich, Larry Buchanan, Jesse Buchanan, Donna Gibson, Cathy Taylor, Janijo Elkins, Steve Ollis, Richard Clark, and David Clark.
In addition to her parents, Chestine was preceded in death by her husband, Von Ralph Boyd; and a brother, Joseph Sydney Ollis.
No services are planned for Mrs. Boyd.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
