Charles Emory "Toby" Clements, 59, of Connelly Springs, NC died unexpectedly Monday, September 19, 2011 at his residence. Born in Mooresville, NC on May 10, 1952, he was the son of the late Henry Calvin Clements and Eunice Christine Day Handley. Toby was a very proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed at Getrag in Newton. He was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed building model planes.Toby is survived by his sisters, Brenda Blevins and husband, Steve, of Connelly Springs, NC and Jo Oliver and husband, David, of Vinton, VA; his loving companion, Terri Allum; nieces and nephews, Kelley Brown and husband, Robert, Sherri Barron and husband, Chris, Tammy Blevins, and Allen Clements and wife, Spring; great-nephews, Stephen Gallion, Alex Gallion, Ethan Barron, and Aaron Barron.In addition to his parents, Toby was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Clements.The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 43, P.O.
