Charles Edward Willis, 69, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, October 14, 2016. Born in Wake County, NC on January 1, 1947, he was the son of the late John Harrison Willis and Anadgia Bessie Dellinger Willis. Charles was a retired employee of Doblin Textiles and was dearly loved by all his family.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Suttles Willis of the home; a daughter, Melissa Suttles and her husband, Robert, of Old Fort, NC; step-children, Debbie Weaver of Morganton, Terry Abee and her husband, Dale, of Morganton, Dale Jackson and her husband, Steve, of Morganton, Kathy Allen of Glen Alpine, NC, Dennis Weaver of Casar, NC, and Jeff Weaver and his wife, Becky, of Casar; grandchildren, Robin Gardner, Bobby Suttles, II, Glen Abee, Kent Abee, Kimberly Drennen, Josh Jackson, Sherry Hightower, Jamie Weaver, Kasey Weaver, Brandy Weaver, Joseph Weaver, and Greg Loury; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Russell of Shelby, NC.
The graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Burke Memorial Park. The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the service.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
