Charles A. Antonelli, 88, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his residence. Born in Lawrence, MA on July 24, 1927, he was the son of the late Angelo Antonelli and Albina Marconnie Antonelli.
Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was very active in both the Kiwanis Club and the Easter Seals. He grew up in Methuen, MA and lived in Dover, NH. In his later years he lived in Naples and St. Augustine, FL. He was an avid cook and enjoyed photography.
Mr. Antonelli is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Antonelli of Morganton and grandchildren, Tabitha, Thomas, and T.J. Rapp.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Caroline E. Manning Antonelli; a brother, Francis Antonelli; and sisters, Carmella A. DeFruscio and Sera Antonelli.
The memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2016 in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael Bailey officiating. The family will greet friends in the church parlor following the service.
