Cathryn Batchelor Ward, 76, of Hickory died Thursday, May 3, 2018. Born in Coal County, OK on March 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Batchelor and Maggie Sanders Batchelor. Cathryn was a member of Wilkies Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Ward of the home; son, Michael (Lois) Moore of Hollywood, FL; daughter, Charla Moore of Amarillo, TX; step-son, Rick (Maxine) Ward of Horseshoe, NC; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond, Lonnie, Joe Edd, and Lennis Batchelor; and sister, Chris Jean Shaw.
The family will receive friends 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Ward officiating.
