Cassandra Silver Hutchins, 60, of the Salem Community went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Grace Hospital after a brief illness. Born in McDowell County, NC on March 16, 1951, she was the daughter of Ruby Ellen Hill Silver and the late Clarence Adam Silver. Cassandra was raised in Sunny Grove Baptist Church. For over 26 years she worked at Hook and Anchor Family Seafood Restaurant, and she had also worked at A.J.’s Family Restaurant. Cassandra loved to cook, but her grandchildren were the love of her life.In addition to her mother, Cassandra is survived by her husband of over 20 years, Bill Hutchins of the home; children, Amy Warren McHone and companion, Clint Turner, of Marion, Adam Warren and wife, Sandy, of Nebo, John Hutchins and wife, Dawn, of Morganton, and Tony Hutchins and wife, Kathey, of Morganton; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen Silver and wife, Lesa, David Silver and wife, Debbie, and Kenneth Silver and wife, Carolyn; all of Nebo; and numerous nephews and nieces.In addition to her father, Cassandra was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lou Silver.A celebration of Cassandra’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Mr. John Hutchins and Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
