Casey Burgin Baber

Casey Burgin Baber, Sr. 59, of Old Mountain Road, Banner Elk, NC died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Burke Palliative Care Center in Valdese, NC. Born in Burke County on April 30, 1950, he was the son of the late Carson Burgin Baber and Roberta Fisher Baber. Casey was a 1968 graduate of Morganton High School. He worked for many years in real estate sales. In recent years he worked as a real estate developer.Casey is survived by his wife, Donna Rominger Baber of the home; sons, Casey Burgin Baber, Jr. and wife, Kori, and Zachery Baber and wife, Janelle, all of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Heather Baber Street and husband, Charles, of Banner Elk; grandchildren, Dana Baber, Jack Street, Casey Burgin Baber, III, and Karsyn Baber; a great-granddaughter, Annabelle Triplett; a step-son, Richard Rominger and wife, Elizabeth, of Banner Elk; a step-grandson, Cody Rominger; his mother-in-law, Louise Braswell Rominger of Newland, NC; and a number of uncles, aunts, and cousins.The memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Sugar Mountain Baptist Church, 1832 Sugar Mountain #2 Road, Newland, NC with Reverends Donnie Ford and David Burnop officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
