Carroll Malone Baldridge, 65, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his residence. Born May 31, 1947 in Madison County, NC, he was a son of the late George Malone "Red" Baldridge and Dixie Mae Cornette Baldridge. He was a member of Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church. With an educational background in law enforcement, Carroll worked for and retired from Foothills Correctional Center. He was a First Lieutenant for Sons of the Confederacy, a licensed gunsmith and licensed mechanic, and an avid hunter and fisherman. Carroll was a special friend to everyone who came in contact with him.A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Carroll is survived by his wife, Kay Duckworth Baldridge; children, Rick and wife Dianna, Don and wife Kim, James and wife Amanda, Shane and wife Carmen, and Angie Baldridge Hall; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by a son, Derick Baldridge; a brother, Darroll Baldridge; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Hall.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Bill Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with graveside honors by Sons of the Confederacy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence on Foreman St. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
