Carolyn Walker Cook, 83, of Morganton, NC, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Born in Burke County, NC on July 21, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Walker and Bertha Mary Dale Walker.

Carolyn was a member of Crosslink Church in Morganton, and she loved the Lord and her church family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandma. Carolyn enjoyed preparing flower arrangements and decorating her yard. She also enjoyed watching game shows, taking trips to Hamricks, and cooking meals for her family. Carolyn loved taking trips, either to the mountains or the beach.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rhonda Beane (Brian); grandson, David Beane (Lauren), great-grandchildren, Braylon Beane and Bryleigh Chapman; special niece, Reba Perkins; a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her four-legged friends: her cat, Baby; and her grand-dog, Buddy.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Edgar Cook; son, Ricky Edgar Cook; sisters, Ruth Smith, Mary Epley, Mildred Hawkins, and Edna McGalliard; and brothers, Herman, Clarence, Lee Roy, Billy, Arthur, Carl, and Charles Walker.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Crosslink Church in Morganton. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Jonathan Reece officiating. The graveside will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Oh my so sorry to hear of Carolyn passing. She was truly a special person and I loved her dearly. She's with our heavenly father now and with all those that were there waiting for her.
