Carlos “Joe” Roper, 61, of Morganton, NC passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 after a period of declining health. Born on February 5, 1957, he was the son of the late William A. Roper and Mary M. Roper.
Mr. Roper was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed trips to Allison’s, was a race fan, and loved watching old westerns.
Joe is survived by his brother, Kenneth Roper and wife, Rachel; sister, Janet Davis and husband, Randy; aunt, Elsie Roper; nephews, Richie Roper, Will Davis and Christopher Elmore; niece, Angie Clark; and two great nieces, Macy Rodriguez and Morgan Roper.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Salem United Methodist Church. The memorial service will be in the church at 3 p.m. with the Revs. David Orders and Norman Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
