Carl Robert “Bob” Keaton, 80, of Valdese went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 8, 2021. Born in Burke County, NC on December 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Carl Alex Keaton and Elsie Lee Bandy Keaton. Bob was a proud Vietnam veteran, serving as an engineer in the US Army. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and especially taking trips to the outer banks. Bob was a devoted husband, brother, and uncle who loved his family dearly. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Buchanan Keaton; brothers, James Keaton (Beverly) and Don Keaton (Tammy); sister, Brenda Keaton Crane (Bill); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Keaton Crowder.
Services for Mr. Keaton will be private due to the ongoing pandemic.
