Carl Powell, 46, of Morganton died Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Born in Avery County, NC on August 20, 1966, he was the son of the late Homer Lee Powell and Mildred Stella Aldridge Powell.Carl is survived by his brothers, Homer Lee Powell, Jr. and Jerry Alridge; a sister, Lori Powell Buff; and a number of nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Calvary Assembly of God with Rev. Danny McNeilly officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
