Carl Dean Hennessee Sr, 84, of Morganton, joined his brothers, sisters, mom and dad in Heaven, Monday, September 17, 2018. Born on January 1, 1934, he was the son of the late Millard T. Hennessee Sr. and Ethna LaMere Kincaid Hennessee.

Carl was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. He was a devoted Husband, Dad, and Pop Pop who loved his family dearly. Carl received his BS from Appalachian State and a Masters of Municipal Engineering from UNC. He served in the Army Reserves for 33 years in the 108th Division. Carl was a director for the Department of Public Resources for the City of Morganton for 30 plus years. Carl helped coordinate the fireworks show for the city for years. He also worked as a local real estate Broker for 10 plus years. He loved to hunt, fish and go to the beach, but most enjoyed oil painting and teaching others to paint.

Left to cherish his memories are his Wife of 61 years, Juliana Gray Hennessee; Daughters, Linda Karen Hennessee Melton (Larry) and Judy Kathryn Hennessee Cooper (Eben); Son, Carl Dean Hennessee, Jr. (Karen); Grandchildren, Melissa Melton Dailey (Ryan), Adam Clayton Melton (Nicole), Katelyn Melton Phelps (Dustin), Kasey Maria Hennessee, Jesse Elise Hennessee, and Carl Dean Hennessee, III; Great-Grandchildren, TR Dailey, Adalyn Dailey, Eli Dailey, Finley Melton, Hadley Melton, and Lincoln Phelps; Sister, Lena Hennessee Cooper: and Brother, Ervin Hennessee; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his Brothers, MT Hennessee, Jr. and Fred L. Hennessee; Sisters, Catherine Hennessee King and Elsie Hennessee Houser; and Son, William Joseph Hennessee.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until Noon, Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. The memorial service will follow in the church at Noon with the Pastors Paul McClure and Larry Melton officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the NC National Guard
