Those left to cherish precious memories of Candy include her grandson, Nicholas Johnson of Clintwood, Virginia. Fraternal aunts, Nancy Beck, Linda Curtis (Randy), and Carolyn Teseneer (Ronald) all of Morganton. Candy also leaves behind numerous friends, cousins, her feline babies; Callie, Deana, China Doll, Toby, and Trumpy; and a dear friend and neighbor, Shirley Cane.
In addition to her parents, Candy was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonia Sandy Johnson, Sandys father, Riddle Smith and her favorite cat, Smokey.
The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Glen Alpin Cemetery.
Candys family would like to thank Amorem of Burke County for the kindness and comfort in her last days, and the Willing Workers group at First Baptist Church of Marion for building a ramp to help with mobility.

She was my beloved baby cousin. She was the most beautiful baby and I adored her. She didn’t have to walk if I was around because I would carry her everywhere. I know she is happy now being with her beloved family members who have gone on before her. She was dearly loved
