Buren Clark, 79, of Morganton made his heavenly crossing on Friday, October 26, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on August 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Grover Stevenson Clark and Nola Marie Helms Clark.  Buren was an active, 49-year member of Victorious Church of God where he preached, taught, and was a gifted chairman for services.  He was a logger for 39 years.

Buren is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye Huffman Clark of the home; son, Clay Clark (Connie) of Morganton; grandchildren, Marina McLean (Isaac) and Andrew Clark; great-grandchildren, Aurora McBrearity, Aiden McLean, and Lilith McLean; brothers, Palmer Clark (Mildred), John Clark (Carolyn), and Alton Clark (Elaine), all of Morganton; sisters, Judy Pearson (Will) and Becky Bradshaw (Randy), both of Morganton; many nieces and nephews; and his pug companion, Beau.

In addition to his parents, Buren was preceded in death by brothers, Claude and Floyd Clark; and sisters, Laverne Arrowood and Veriena Freeman.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Ken Van Buskirk officiating.  Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
