Bruce Richard Benfield, 58, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Born October 10, 1956 in Mitchell County, NC, he was the son of Elizabeth Pauline Piercy Benfield of Morganton and the late Richard Clinton Benfield. Bruce worked as an insurance salesman for most of his life, and he loved riding motorcycles.
In addition to his mother, Bruce is survived by a sister, Kathy Benfield Cook of Drexel, NC; nieces, Stacy Rachelle Cook, Savana Nicole Harwood, and Kayla Shell Harwood; and uncles, Randy L. McKinney and Donald R. McKinney, both of Morganton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2015 at Zion Road Baptist Church with Mr. Randy McKinney speaking.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
