Bruce Alan Bernard, 68, of Morganton, NC, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025. Born on September 24, 1956, in Gloucester City, NJ, Bruce was the son of the late Bill and Betty (Cheesman) Bernard.

Bruce was a man of deep passion, creativity, and unwavering loyalty to the things he loved. An avid painter and a proud former Mummer, he found joy in revisiting old videos of his performances and cherished the vibrant memories they held. A diehard Philadelphia sports fan through and through, Bruce bled green for his beloved Eagles — “Go Birds!” was never far from his lips.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth (Schuler) Bernard, and his sister, Nancy Bernard.

Bruce’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his brother, Ed Bernard; children: Nicholas Bernard (Trinity), Joseph Bernard (Krista), Kelly Luciana-Bernard (Jake), Becky Thompson (Mark), and Katrina Blumetti (Joe); his grandchildren: Anthony (Julie), Elijah, Chloe, Gabby, Sophie, Lily, Spencer, Dominic, Trevor, and Oakley. His legacy lives on in the love and laughter of those he leaves behind.

A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 15 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Murray Hall at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

So sry I didnt make the visitation or the service. It wasn't because I didn't care it was because I don't do well in the morning time with my Fibromyalga and I so wanted to see all of you kids. I guess it was for the best though. Anyway I'm praying for peace and comfort in the days to come for all of you! Just know I thought the world of both your Mom &Dad!!

Bruce was a very loving and soft hearted person and was happy to have known him. The last time some family members and myself got to spend time together was in Sept 2024 and I’m glad we did. RIP Bruce My prayers are with all the family members at this time of grief.
