Britt Homer Dale, 74, of Valdese, NC, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Born in Burke County, NC on August 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Homer Bynum Dale and Gertrude Belle Poteat Dale.
Britt was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the Broughton Hospital Police after many years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed gardening and playing computer games. He loved reading his Bible and spending time with his family.
Britt is survived by his wife, Pauline Jenkins Dale; children, Jason Dale and Mandy Dale Childres; grandchildren, Taylor Dale, Tyler Childres, and Saylor Childres; brother, Grant Dale; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Britt was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Dale; and sisters, Peggy Chapman and Sandra Bradshaw.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Brad Childres officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by the US Marine Corps.
