My mother, Brenda Roper, was called home on Friday, February 16, 2018. There she met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, David, who she is now back in his arms. She has also been reunited with her father and mother, Joe and Marie Mooney.
She leaves behind myself, her daughter, Connie Jackson and husband, Robin, whom she always referred to as her favorite son-in-law. Also to cherish her memory are the two lights of her life, the epitome of her world, her two grandchildren, Anna and Callie. As I’m sitting here talking with my daughters we are remembering all of the wonderful times we shared as a family. We were so blessed to have had such a wonderful example of a Godly, Christian mother and grandmother. Her faith and relationship with God was something she loved to share with others. And its because of that, that we know one day we will all be reunited again.
Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Mark McManus and the staff at Hopewell Family Medicine, Dr. Bonfield and his assistant, Mr. Mark Hickman, Dr. Leah Roth, and Dr. Heather Willis.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for any memorials be made to Burkemont Baptist Church Above and Beyond, 4668 Burkemont Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
